The Door CFM - Taylorsville

OUR DIFFERENCE
"What makes The Door CFM different?" That's the question that matters. What sets us apart from the average church? Actually, we're different in many ways, and I'd like to point out 10 differences that make The Door CFM stand out:
1. OUR VISION
Our vision is visible and measurable. We see the harvest field in Taylorsville and around the world. We are determined, by every possible means, to impact the unbelieving community through outreach and evangelism.
We have adopted a “whatever it takes” mindset. We constantly seek more effective ways to fulfill our purpose and see our vision become reality. We do not fear change — we embrace it. Our vision is great because we serve a great God who has given us a great command and a Great Commission to “go into all the world.”
2. OUR MEMBERS
We make a concentrated effort to equip our members to live for Christ by addressing their needs from a biblical perspective and developing within them a Christian worldview. Our discipleship program is tailor-made to meet the specific needs of believers, visitors, and unbelievers.
Every member is called to minister; therefore, they are free to minister as God has shaped and blessed them. We seek, by all means, to develop, counsel, and guide each member to discover how God has uniquely gifted their lives and abilities, to capitalize on those gifts, and to reach others from that foundation.
3. OUR RESPONSIBILITY
At The Door CFM Taylorsville, we offer every prospective church member a six-week course called “Foundations of the Faith”, which outlines the fundamentals of our faith, strategy, structure, and the responsibilities of church members. Afterward, each prospective member has the opportunity to sign a Membership Covenant, accepting their role in advancing the Gospel and the church.
Our ministry leaders, elders, and pastor(s) serve as examples and guides to affirm, mentor, and assist every member in their spiritual growth. We desire to substantially increase the total number of members engaged in active ministry.
4. OUR PURPOSE
We focus on five primary tasks of the church, just as the early church did in the book of Acts. We do not aim to do one task better than another; we strive to fulfill all with excellence.
The Five Tasks of the Church (see Acts 2:42–47):
-
Discipleship (v. 42)
-
Fellowship (v. 42)
-
Worship (vv. 42, 47)
-
Ministry (vv. 44–45)
-
Outreach (v. 47)
We want people to understand that authentic Christianity is practical and must be lived out in daily life. We aim to move the church beyond theoretical Christianity toward practical Christianity.
5. OUR OUTREACH
We desire to use any means and methods necessary to reach the unsaved in the Taylorsville area. No cost is too great to bring people to Jesus Christ when we consider the price He paid for the members of The Door CFM Taylorsville to come to salvation. We also provide opportunities for our members to engage in world evangelism through local outreach and global mission efforts, including joining the pastor on international mission trips. We envision sending out many volunteer missionaries, short-term missionaries, and full-time career missionaries from our church. We will invite missionaries to share their vision for the lost world so that we can make it our own. We are committed to active missionary partnerships, training, and education.
6. OUR STRUCTURE
We maintain a simple structure that maximizes members’ time for practical ministry development. We disciple men and couples to rise up and meet the needs of our generation in “real time,” so they can have maximum impact with minimal maintenance.
We strive to create an environment where we can minister to people’s needs. We recognize that our members want their lives to count; therefore, every moment spent in church or related activities should significantly contribute to fulfilling our purpose.
Each church member bears the responsibility of reaching and ministering to every visitor and unbeliever whom God places in their path.
7. OUR MESSAGE
Every message is prepared to touch and challenge the life of each listener in a personal and relevant way. We want every sermon to show that God’s Word is still relevant today, addressing and guiding people through life’s real problems.
We see the Bible as the ultimate source of truth and will not compromise or dilute its original intent or message. We believe that every word of Scripture is God-breathed and without error, and that the authority of the Bible surpasses any historical or modern belief.
8. OUR STRATEGY
Our strategy defines how we intend to fulfill our purpose. Everything we do is focused on evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.
Although we maintain a steady focus on our ongoing tasks, we are flexible in the methods we use to accomplish them. We are always willing to try new approaches to reach our God-given goals.
9. OUR SERVICES
Above all, we are a gospel-preaching church. While we love music and invest time and energy into maximizing our worship potential and strengthening our praise team, our services remain centered on the preaching of God’s Word.
Our services are energetic, heartfelt, and designed to make a powerful, life-changing impact. We preach the gospel without compromise, with conviction, and always conclude with an altar call—where we meet with God and allow Him to minister to our lives.
10. OUR GIVING
We expect our members to commit to a covenant of giving generously and cheerfully to the church. The Bible clearly outlines a plan of tithing for every member, consisting of the tithe (the tenth) plus additional offerings.
We manage our budget strategically in alignment with the church’s purpose and mission. All weekly and special offerings are carefully handled under multiple layers of accountability before being reinvested into ministry. Our goal is to invest every offering according to our vision.
